Commercial Litigation

Commercial litigation involves what is sometimes known as business law. This is a body of law that governs business and commercial transactions. Commercial litigation is a branch of civil litigation and deals with issues of both private law and public law. Various regulatory schemes control how commerce is conducted such as business corporation laws, privacy laws, passing off laws and a variety of regulations governing business operations. Also included is corporate law which is about incorporated companies, that have separate legal personality, with limited liability or unlimited liability for its members or shareholders, who own stock. Other types of business associations can include partnerships (like most law firms), and trusts (like a pension fund).

For years, Vice & Hunter LLP has provided advice and services to its clients respecting commercial litigation. Often, this included preparing a case for arbitration and/or mediation where disputes could be resolved out of the public court system and often in a more expeditious way.
