General Litigation

Civil litigation (non-criminal) involves cases brought before the courts to decide disputes involving torts (such as accidents of various types, negligence, medical malpractice and defamation), contract disputes, the probate of wills, trusts, property disputes, administrative law, commercial law, and any other private matters that involve private parties and organizations including government departments.

Since its inception in 1975, Vice & Hunter, now Vice & Hunter LLP, has conducted a large and consistent practice in general civil litigation matters. The cases successfully undertaken have included a variety of different matters at various court levels. Many have been cases relating to real estate such as title problems, problems arising from various types of land transactions, zoning disputes, accidents, negligence and environmental litigation. However, many have related to the numerous other areas of civil litigation.

The objectives of Vice & Hunter LLP in their practice of civil litigation are to right a wrong, honour an agreement, settle a dispute and get compensation for their clients. We recognize that civil litigation can be stressful for our clients whom often have no experience in these areas. Hence, we endeavour to explain the processes and provide realistic assessments of success to reduce the number of unknown factors facing our clients.
