Jennifer Gravel Vanasse

Jennifer Gravel Vanasse

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Since 1990, Jennifer Gravel Vanasse has worked as a litigation law clerk with Vice & Hunter LLP. As a law clerk, she has assisted with various types of litigation files including personal injury, motor vehicle accident, wrongful dismissal, real property and family law disputes. Jennifer has assisted the Litigation Team in all steps of a proceeding, including preparing for trial and assisting in court, whether in the Superior Court of Justice or the Divisional Court.

In 2008, the Ontario government passed a law requiring persons who provide legal services, but who are not lawyers, to be licensed by the Law Society of Upper Canada as paralegals. A paralegal’s scope of practice is limited to federal and provincial tribunals and administrative boards, Small Claims Court, and certain Provincial Court matters.

Jennifer obtained her paralegal license on March 31, 2008 and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. She was among the first group of paralegals to be licensed in Ontario. Jennifer brings her many years of experience in litigation to her paralegal practice, which is focused mainly on the Small Claims Court and some Provincial Offences matters.

Currently, Jennifer divides her time between assisting the litigation lawyers of the firm in her capacity as a law clerk and representing her own clients as a paralegal.
